Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a 30-day free e-tourist visa facility for Russian citizens. The announcement was made in New Delhi during the annual India–Russia summit, which was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During the joint press conference, Prime Minister Modi stated that a 30-day free e-tourist visa and a 30-day group tourist visa would soon be introduced for Russian nationals, aiming to enhance tourism and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
Reports indicate that President Putin, during his visit, held discussions with Prime Minister Modi on expanding cooperation in the fields of defence and energy. India has shown interest in purchasing additional S-400 missile systems while also planning to upgrade its Russian-built Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets.
Currently, the bilateral trade volume between India and Russia stands at 68 billion dollars, while India aims to increase it to 100 billion dollars by the year 2030.
