Karachi: The port city remains under the grip of severe cold weather, with a noticeable drop in temperatures across various areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the city has fallen to as low as 6 degrees Celsius, intensifying the cold conditions.
The Meteorological Department stated that the weather is expected to remain dry over the next 24 hours, while cold conditions will persist during nighttime. The minimum temperature is likely to range between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius.
Officials said the overall minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 8.1 degrees Celsius, while some areas experienced even lower temperatures overnight. The lowest temperature was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, where it dropped to 6 degrees Celsius.
In other parts of the city, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius in Gulistan-e-Johar and Shahrah-e-Faisal, 10 degrees in Mauripur, and 10.5 degrees Celsius in Bin Qasim. The department added that the maximum temperature in the city may reach up to 24 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department further noted that humidity levels in the city stand at 44 percent, while northeast winds are blowing at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour, adding to the chill in the air.
