Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Eight terrorists were killed during joint operations carried out by police and the Counter Terrorism Department in different areas of the province. According to the Central Police Office, the operations were conducted on the basis of intelligence reports in Bannu, Khyber, and the outskirts of Peshawar in Zahir Garhi to dismantle terrorist networks.
Police officials said the killed terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces and other terrorist activities and were wanted by law enforcement agencies. During the operations, the militants offered resistance, but police and CTD responded effectively and neutralized them.
According to police, a major terrorist plan was foiled during an operation in the Naka Kalle area adjacent to Shah Kass Bypass Road. Weapons and mobile phones were also recovered from the terrorists, which are being further examined. Authorities added that security in the affected areas has been tightened to prevent any further threats.
