A target has been set to purchase 18 LNG cargoes for the winter season.
According to Petroleum Division sources, the combined domestic gas supply available to Sui Northern and Sui Southern nationwide stands at 1.4 billion cubic feet. During winter, Punjab’s gas requirements alone could reach one billion cubic feet.
Sources said 18 LNG cargoes were targeted for purchase during winter, with priority given to importing cheaper LNG from Qatar. A price of $30 per MMBtu could be the upper limit for spot LNG purchases.
