The People’s Pink bus service for women has been officially launched in Karachi from today, Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon said that People’s Bus service is also going to be started in Sukhur, in which women’s section is also reserved.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Pink Bus for women in Karachi, Sharjeel Memon said that by empowering women, the whole family becomes stronger. We must make useful policies for women.
He said that Benazir Income Support Program was started for women and they are also going to start People’s Bus service in Sukkur, in which women’s section is reserved, they have not done any favor by running bus service for women.
He further said that a society that ignores mother, sister and daughter is not successful, women can do everything that men can do.
The pink bus service will be operated on two routes in the first phase.
The People’s Pink bus service for women has been officially launched in Karachi from today, the bus service will be run on 2 routes in Karachi in the first phase.
Entry of male passengers will be prohibited in the pink bus while initially one route is from Model Colony via Shahrah Faisal, Metropole, II Chandragarh Road to Meriwether Tower.
Another bus route will run from Meriwether Tower to District Central via Sadar, which will be operated later while the fare of the pink bus service is set at Rs.50.
