The convoy of PTI, led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, reached Zero Point, where the police were heavily shelling, while the workers were throwing stones.
Clashes between the police and PTI workers are ongoing in Islamabad. Rangers are deployed at key buildings in Islamabad, and military units are stationed at D-Chowk.
The effects of tear gas fired on the workers reached Abpara Chowk, causing shops in the Abpara market to be closed.
Due to the tense situation, additional police forces were called from Rawalpindi, and initially, 1,000 police personnel were sent to Islamabad.
A fresh batch of Rangers was also dispatched to handle the protesters. The forces were sent from D-Chowk towards China Chowk, where tear gas shelling continued.
Earlier, the police attempted to block the workers at the G-10 signal for two hours but were forced to give way due to resistance. Police and Rangers have established positions at the G-9 Signal on Srinagar Highway.
Despite agreeing to find an alternative location for PTI founder Imran Khan’s protest last night, Bushra Bibi refused to comply and insisted on going to D-Chowk at all costs.
Bushra Bibi stated that some conspiratorial elements wanted to stop them from going to D-Chowk and that Imran Khan had instructed her to go there by any means. She emphasized that the workers would not agree to any negotiation decision other than D-Chowk.
Sources say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has remained silent on the negotiation matters, while PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has been unable to make any decisions.
According to PTI sources, the central leadership of PTI appears to be unsuccessful in determining the final location for the sit-in, with no one in the leadership willing to take responsibility.
PTI sources mentioned that Ali Amin stated there were difficulties in coordinating to bring the workers to the final location in Islamabad.
Earlier, after the second meeting of the PTI delegation, led by Barrister Gohar, with PTI founder Imran Khan, Barrister Gohar, Bushra Bibi, and Ali Amin Gandapur were heading to meet with him.
According to sources, in the 40-minute conversation led by Barrister Gohar with Imran Khan, he briefed the PTI founder on the protest and the government’s options.
In this important second meeting, Imran Khan recorded a crucial message for his wife, Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and the workers.
After recording Imran Khan’s video message, Barrister Gohar was set to show it to Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur.
Sources suggest that after listening to the video message, Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur, and the PTI leadership were expected to announce the next course of action.
Sources indicate that one of the government proposals was agreed upon in Imran Khan’s video message.
