Before the series against the West Indies, Pakistan’s young opener, Hasibullah Khan, had also fallen victim to fitness issues.
According to reports, wicketkeeper-batter Hasibullah Khan was part of the squad for the series against South Africa, but due to Mohammad Rizwan, he did not get an opportunity. Before the Champions Trophy, there was a chance for young players to be included in the series against the West Indies, where the cricketer’s fortune could have shone, but he suffered an injury, making his inclusion uncertain.
Sources say that during practice in the Cape Town Test, a ball struck his hand, after which doctors advised him to rest for two weeks. The wicketkeeper-batter is also part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the series against the West Indies. However, now Rohail Nazir will get the chance to replace him. The three-day practice match is scheduled to begin on January 10 at the Islamabad Club.
On the other hand, opener Saeem Ayub also sustained an injury to his right ankle on the first day of the Cape Town Test. He is currently in London for treatment, and his participation in the ICC Champions Trophy depends on his recovery from the injury.
