Before the crucial Pakistan-India match in the Champions Trophy, the question of whether everything is okay with Team India is circulating in the Indian media.
The Indian team had shown outstanding performance in the white-ball series against England, clean-sweeping the visiting team 4-1 in T20s and 3-0 in ODIs.
According to a report published in Times Now, a senior Indian cricketer has accused head coach Gautam Gambhir of not considering him the first-choice wicketkeeper in India’s Champions Trophy squad.
The report did not name the wicketkeeper-batter nor confirm whether the player is part of India’s Champions Trophy squad. However, since the player is mentioned as a star cricketer, there aren’t many names in the Indian team that fit this position.
Sources confirmed to Times Now in a conversation that a current Indian wicketkeeper is unhappy with head coach Gautam Gambhir. This player is currently not the first choice in the playing XI for ODIs.
The report stated that the Indian cricketer feels there is a specific reason behind his exclusion from the 50-over format.
It is worth noting that India will play its first match today, February 20, against Bangladesh, while the traditional rivals Pakistan and India will face off in the crucial match on February 23.
