ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has introduced the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS), a new digital system intended to streamline and simplify business registration and licensing across the province.
The unveiling took place at the CM House with the presence of Federal Minister for the Board of Investment Qaiser Shaikh, provincial cabinet members, business community representatives, and other stakeholders.
While addressing the audience, Shah described SBOSS as a key milestone in Sindh’s economic progress, aimed at making the regulatory process faster and more efficient for businesses. He noted that Pakistan had seen a major leap in the Ease of Doing Business rankings, improving from 147 to 108 over three years, and that SBOSS is set to build further on that momentum.
The platform, developed under the World Bank-funded CLICK Project, initially includes 32 e-licensing options from nine departments. It is expected to grow to 130 services covering 16 departments. SBOSS functions entirely online and connects with major national systems like NADRA, SECP, and 1LINK. It also employs blockchain for enhanced security and transparency.
The Chief Minister underscored SBOSS as a breakthrough in public sector reform, calling it the first province-wide unified platform for business-related regulatory services. He mentioned that the system is intended to assist all scales of businesses by making the process more predictable and user-friendly.
Future plans include rolling out more services, opening physical business facilitation centres, and establishing a 24/7 digital support centre to assist entrepreneurs.
Federal Minister Qaiser Shaikh lauded the initiative and reiterated the central government’s support in strengthening Pakistan’s investment environment. He added that steps like SBOSS could help drive economic stability and attract both local and foreign investors.
