Captain Harry Brook’s aggressive 79-run innings off just 35 balls helped England secure a comfortable nine-wicket victory over India in the fourth T20I.
Playing in Bristol, India posted 158 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Indian captain Shreyas Iyer played an impressive innings of 80 runs off 49 balls, which included four boundaries and five sixes.
Shivam Dube contributed 22 runs, while Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue claimed two wickets each for England.
In reply, England comfortably chased down the 159-run target in the 14th over, with 37 balls to spare. After Jos Buttler was dismissed with the team’s total on 13, opener Phil Salt and captain Harry Brook produced an outstanding batting display, adding an unbeaten 146-run partnership for the second wicket to guide their team to victory.
Harry Brook smashed 79 runs from just 35 deliveries, striking eight fours and four sixes, while Phil Salt remained unbeaten with 59 runs. The comprehensive nine-wicket win gave England a decisive 3-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against India.
