A rare and surprising incident has occurred in the United States, where a thief returned stolen items to a store owner and also left behind a written apology, leaving many astonished by the unexpected turn of events.
According to foreign media reports, this strange theft took place at an old guitar store in the US state of New Jersey, where the incident ultimately ended in a surprising and pleasant manner, unlike typical criminal cases.
The report said that a thief had stolen two mandolins, which are small guitars, from the store a few days earlier. However, the same individual unexpectedly returned the stolen instruments to the owner after a short period.
It was revealed that the theft was carried out while the thief was under the influence of drugs, but after regaining sobriety, he realized his mistake and decided to return the stolen items.
In a post shared by the music store on Facebook, it was stated that both stolen mandolins had been returned along with an apology note. The note read, “Please forgive me, I was intoxicated. Merry Christmas. You are a good man.”
The post further explained that the thief had quietly opened the front door of the store, placed both guitars into shopping bags, and left without being noticed.
According to US media, the store owner, who has been running the business since 1981, said that the incident was truly astonishing and difficult to believe, adding that it felt like something out of a strange movie with a surprisingly happy ending.
The owner also shared that the stolen instruments were valued at 3,500 dollars and 4,250 dollars, respectively, making them highly valuable items.
