The Punjab government has decided to take firm steps to bring individuals and companies that have long avoided paying taxes into the provincial tax net, aiming to enhance revenue collection and strengthen transparency within the taxation system.
In this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Revenue Authority Chairman Muazzam Iqbal Spera to review the performance of field operations across the province. The meeting focused on tax registration, revenue targets, and on-the-ground enforcement measures.
During the meeting, it was clearly stated that all companies providing services in Punjab will be required to register with the Punjab Revenue Authority without exception. It was further emphasized that these companies must ensure registration under the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS) and comply with timely tax payments.
The meeting also reviewed progress related to revenue targets and EIMS registration. Expressing dissatisfaction over the failure to meet assigned targets, the chairman raised concerns about the performance of the Sargodha and Bahawalpur divisions and directed officials to improve enforcement efforts at the field level.
Chairman Muazzam Iqbal Spera announced that a comprehensive training program for all field teams would be launched later this month to enhance their capacity and operational efficiency. He stressed that strengthening field operations is essential to ensure effective tax enforcement and to expand the tax base across the province.
