The Meteorological Department has released new details regarding cold weather conditions in Karachi. Following yesterday’s rainfall, the city has experienced a noticeable drop in temperature, while cold winds from Quetta are currently blowing at a speed of 20 to 22 kilometers per hour.
According to the Met Office, the wind speed is expected to increase to 30 to 35 kilometers per hour over the next day, which may cause the cold to feel more intense than the actual temperature.
The Meteorological Department stated that due to strong and cold winds, residents may experience a higher wind-chill effect. It added that cold weather is likely to persist in Karachi until the end of the month. During this period, nighttime temperatures are expected to remain between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures may range from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.
The department further noted that a western weather system may affect the northern parts of the country on January 27 or 28. However, no rainfall is expected in Sindh during this period, and the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy across Karachi and other parts of the province.
