Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has said that in Balochistan, passengers were taken off buses, their identity cards were checked, and they were then killed, calling it a deeply alarming situation. He added that in Balochistan, it is often not possible to hold a public gathering in an area without the consent of the local tribal chief.
While addressing the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai stressed that political differences must be reduced and the Parliament should be strengthened, as a strong legislature is essential for democracy and effective governance. He pointed out that although Sui gas has reached across Pakistan, it is still unavailable in Sui itself and nearby areas, which he described as a clear injustice.
Later, speaking to the media outside Parliament House, the opposition leader said that terrorism, wherever it occurs, is dangerous and must be addressed decisively. He remarked that external elements come in and fuel internal conflicts, adding that the current situation is a serious test for the country.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai further said that there is a need for collective thinking and dialogue to address these issues. He emphasized that the best solution lies in sitting together and finding common ground, asserting that the solution to the country’s problems ultimately rests in a strong and empowered Parliament.
