Traffic authorities in Karachi have officially launched an e-challan campaign against lane violations on Shahrah-e-Faisal as part of efforts to improve traffic management and road safety.
According to traffic police officials, hundreds of e-challans were issued through the automated system from June 1 for vehicles violating designated lane rules, particularly motorcycles, rickshaws, and commercial vehicles.
DIG Traffic stated that motorcycles, rickshaws, and commercial vehicles using the fast lane are being penalized under the new enforcement system to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents.
He added that, for the time being, motorcyclists entering the second lane from the right will not receive challans, but this exemption is only temporary.
Traffic authorities have directed motorcycle riders, rickshaw drivers, and commercial vehicle operators to remain in the third and fourth lanes while traveling on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Officials warned that in the coming days, vehicles violating the lane policy by entering the second lane will also face e-challans.
The traffic police have urged citizens to follow lane discipline and use designated tracks to help create a safer and more organized traffic environment.
