Khanewal: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has criticised the government’s reported decision to create 15 provinces, saying Pakistan’s Constitution is being made a mockery of.
Speaking to the media in Khanewal while visiting JUI-F leader Allama Ikram Qadri, Fazlur Rehman said two provinces were already “burning” while the government was talking about creating new provinces.
He said the government had completely lost public confidence and described the decision to create 15 provinces as wrong.
The JUI-F chief also criticised the earlier merger of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas, saying the decision had proved disastrous.
Speaking about political consultations, Fazlur Rehman said his party was holding talks with the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He added that the parties would formulate a joint strategy in the assembly.
