Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah says that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been given permission to arrest former Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen.
While addressing a news conference in Karachi, Rana Sanaullah said that foreign citizens are playing an important role in the development of the country, China is working on important projects, and they are ensuring fool-proof security to the residents.
He said that terrorists carry out cowardly attacks, Pakistanis were martyred in the mosque of Peshawar, but they are trying to maintain peace, development and prosperity in the country.
On the issue of the arrest of the former finance minister, the interior minister said that the inquiry against Shaukat Tareen has been completed after which the government has given permission to the FIA to arrest him.
It may be recalled that the FIA yesterday decided to initiate legal action against Shaukat Tareen after investigating the audio leak related to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal and sought permission from the Home Ministry to arrest him.
