Multan:On the second day of the Multan Test, the West Indies batting lineup crumbled against Pakistan’s bowlers, getting all out for just 137 runs. Pakistan gained a first-innings lead of 93 runs, with standout bowling performances from Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan, who claimed 5 and 4 wickets, respectively.
Pakistan resumed their innings at 143/4 on the first day. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan added 44 runs to the total before Saud Shakeel was dismissed for 84 by Kevin Sinclair. Rizwan followed soon after, scoring 71, also falling to Sinclair. After their dismissals, the Pakistani batting lineup could not hold on for long and was bowled out for 230 runs.
Four Pakistani batters—Saud Shakeel (84), Mohammad Rizwan (71), Shan Masood (11), and Babar Azam (8)—managed to reach double figures. Among the rest, Kamran Ghulam scored 5, Agha Salman, 2, and Sajid Khan contributed 18 runs.
Pakistan’s bowlers immediately applied pressure when the West Indies began their innings. Sajid Khan struck early, dismissing Mikhail Louis and Keacy Carty in consecutive overs, leaving the visitors in trouble. Sajid continued his stellar performance by claiming his fourth wicket in the fifth over, taking Kevem Hodge’s catch.
Nauman Ali also maintained his exceptional form, dismissing Justin Greaves in the 10th over and trapping Tevin Imlach LBW in the 12th. Nauman claimed his fourth wicket by dismissing Kevin Sinclair in the 17th over.
The West Indies team was bowled out for just 137 runs, giving Pakistan a 93-run lead. With excellent bowling, Pakistan strengthened their position in the match.
