The Meteorological Department has forecast that from today, intermittent rains are expected in various parts of the country, which may result in pleasant weather.
After the ongoing intense heatwave across the country, the spell of rain is likely to begin today. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Islamabad and surrounding areas will remain partly cloudy, with chances of heavy rain and hailstorms at some locations.
Rain and hailstorms are expected in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Haripur. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is also likely in Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, and Hangu.
Additionally, experts have forecast hailstorms and rain in Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, and Swabi. Similarly, rain and hailstorms are expected in Mardan, Kurram, D.I. Khan, and Bannu.
In Punjab, rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mandi Bahauddin. The same weather pattern is likely in Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Sialkot.
Furthermore, hailstorms and rain are expected in the provincial capital Lahore, Narowal, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, and Faisalabad. Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, D.G. Khan, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur are also expected to receive hailstorms and rain.
In Sindh, rain with thunder and lightning is expected in the evening or night in Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad. Similarly, rain is expected in Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, and surrounding areas.
In Balochistan, rain is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musakhel, Chaman, and Mastung during the evening or night. Rain is also likely in Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibi, Khuzdar, Chaghi, and Nushki.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rain that occurred late at night in Peshawar made the weather pleasant. Dust storms are also expected in Peshawar, Bannu, and other plain areas, while hailstorm is feared in many regions.
Yesterday, Peshawar recorded a temperature of 39°C. Similarly, Dera Ismail Khan recorded 43°C, Bannu 42°C, and Mardan and Takht Bhai recorded 39°C.
In upper regions, Kalam recorded 30°C, Malam Jabba 27°C, Chitral 35°C, and Dir and Lower Dir 34°C.
