Contradictory statements have emerged from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) regarding the average gas prices for the current fiscal year, creating confusion among consumers.
A day earlier, OGRA’s spokesperson stated that a 3 percent reduction had been proposed in the average gas price for Sui Northern, while an 8 percent reduction had been suggested for Sui Southern. According to the spokesperson, after the proposed cuts, the average gas price for Sui Northern would be Rs 1804.08 per MMBTU, and for Sui Southern, Rs 1549.41 per MMBTU.
The spokesperson also said that OGRA would issue a formal notification after receiving the federal government’s advice.
However, later reports claimed that the gas price for Sui Northern had been set at Rs 1852.80 per MMBTU, while the price for Sui Southern had been approved at Rs 1777.02 per MMBTU.
