In various areas of Karachi, electricity supply will remain suspended today, Saturday, due to maintenance work, with the outage potentially lasting up to 15 hours. K-Electric has announced that power will remain suspended from morning till evening on 44 feeders, while a minimum power outage of 12 hours is expected on these feeders.
According to a spokesperson, this power suspension carried out in the name of maintenance will be in addition to the routine load-shedding schedule, while in some areas the duration of the work may extend up to 15 hours.
As a result, millions of residents will face prolonged power outages from Saturday morning, raising concerns about disruptions to daily life.
The affected areas include Liaquatabad, Malir, Landhi, Korangi, Orangi, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, FB Area, North Karachi, Defence, Shah Faisal, Naurus Chorangi, Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, Godhra, along with several industrial feeders.
Meanwhile, Sui Southern Gas Company has also announced a gas shutdown. According to the company, gas supply to all industries in the city will remain suspended on Saturday and Sunday, while all CNG stations will also remain closed for two days.
As a result, a large number of citizens in Karachi will face power shortages, while the industrial sector will remain deprived of gas supply.
