Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and surrounding areas on Monday afternoon, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and offices as a precautionary measure.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.8 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located in the northwestern part of Kashmir, while the depth of the quake was recorded at 10 kilometers beneath the surface.
The Seismological Center further stated that tremors were also felt in other regions, including Hunza, where residents reported noticeable shaking.
Initial reports indicate that no immediate loss of life or property has been reported as a result of the earthquake, while authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
