Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Masjid Khadijat ul Kubra in Islamabad, which was recently targeted in a terrorist attack, and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident. He stated that it was difficult to find an example of brutality worse than this and described the attack as a conspiracy aimed at creating division and unrest within society, which ultimately failed due to national unity.
The Prime Minister announced financial assistance of Rs5 million each for the families of the martyrs, assuring them that the government would stand by them and provide all possible support. He also announced Rs3 million each for those who were critically injured and Rs1 million each for those who sustained minor injuries, in order to help cover their medical treatment and rehabilitation expenses.
Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism with full force and said that any attempt to destabilize the country’s peace would be thwarted. He emphasized that such incidents cannot weaken the nation’s resolve but instead strengthen unity among the people.
The Prime Minister also visited the residence of Shaheed Aoun Abbas, who sacrificed his life while attempting to stop the suicide attacker. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to Aoun Abbas’s bravery and courage, stating that his sacrifice would always be remembered with honor.
