Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has stated that the most serious and effective efforts for the release of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf were made by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He emphasized that Mohsin Naqvi played a prominent role in the attempts made in this regard.
Speaking to the media, Ali Amin Gandapur said that Mohsin Naqvi made extensive and continuous efforts to resolve the issue and tried to find a way forward through discussions at various levels. He noted that sincere steps were taken to address the matter.
Ali Amin further stated that Mohsin Naqvi is the only person who can speak directly before the Field Marshal, and that he also discussed the matter of the PTI founder’s release with the Field Marshal. According to him, high-level contacts were made in an effort to reach a positive outcome.
It is worth mentioning that the opposition alliance’s sit-in over the issue of Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital has entered its fifth day, with leaders from various parties continuing their protest in support of their demands.
The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan has decided to continue the sit-in at Parliament House to demand the provision of proper medical facilities to Imran Khan and has announced that the protest will not be called off for now.
Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, stated that the sit-in should continue until one of their office-bearers is allowed to meet Imran Khan, and that they will not withdraw their demands.
Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also said that PTI leaders would continue their sit-in outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, and that protest activities would remain ongoing at different locations.
