The ongoing sit-in by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Islamabad has entered its fifth day, with party workers and leaders continuing their protest in support of their demands and announcing that they will remain until their demands are accepted.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, while speaking to the media, stated that the government has not fulfilled any demands regarding the health of the PTI founder and that no serious progress has been made in this matter.
Clarifying their position, Suhail Afridi said that their demands did not include obtaining a medical report. Instead, their primary demand was to allow the PTI founder access to his personal doctor and family members. He stated that it is the constitutional and legal right of the PTI founder to receive treatment from his personal physician and questioned what the government is attempting to conceal by denying permission for a personal doctor.
Announcing that the protest would continue until their demands are approved, he clarified that people in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have staged sit-ins on their own initiative. However, PTI or the opposition alliance has not issued a formal call for sit-ins anywhere other than Parliament House and KP House.
Suhail Afridi further stated that decision-making authority within PTI rests with Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and that they are participating in the sit-in in Islamabad following their call.
Speaking about Aleema Khan, Suhail Afridi said that she is the sister of the PTI founder and has no affiliation with PTI or practical politics and therefore should not be dragged into political matters.
