The United Kingdom has announced strict action against employers who hire overseas workers through fraudulent visa sponsorship schemes. According to British media reports, those found violating immigration laws may face serious consequences, including a ban on recruiting employees from abroad in the future, in an effort to ensure transparency and compliance within the immigration system.
A British newspaper reported that cases involving fake visa sponsorship have increased significantly, with a fivefold rise recorded in such incidents. Authorities have stated that monitoring mechanisms are being further strengthened to prevent misuse of the immigration framework.
Meanwhile, new rules for individuals holding dual nationality will come into effect in the UK from Wednesday, February 25. Under the updated regulations, individuals who possess British nationality but do not hold a valid British passport may be denied entry into the country.
According to media reports, dual nationals will be required to present a visa, a British passport, or a certificate to enter the UK. In the absence of a British passport, they must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or a Certificate of Entitlement, without which entry will not be permitted.
Through the ETA system, individuals may stay in the UK for up to six months for purposes such as visiting family members or tourism, provided they comply with the specified conditions.
