Lahore: Secretary-General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Khalid Ejaz Mufti, has announced that the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr will not be sighted on the evening of April 20, hence Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22.
Khalid Ejaz Mufti stated that according to the Pakistani time, the new moon will be born at 9:13 am on April 20. On this day, the age of the moon will be less than 10 hours, and for it to be visible, its age should be more than 19 hours. Therefore, despite clear skies, the moon will not be visible, and Ramadan will complete 30 days this year.
Khalid Ejaz Mufti also stated that Ramadan will end on April 21 and Shawwal will begin on April 22. Therefore, any sighting of the moon for Shawwal, which is expected on the evening of April 20, will be false.
