A significant development has emerged in the matter of proposed transfers of judges in the Islamabad High Court, where the transfer of two judges has been temporarily halted due to pressure from the Pakistan Peoples Party, causing a pause in the process.
According to sources, the ongoing plan to transfer five judges faced a setback on Tuesday when, following political intervention, the names of two judges were removed from the transfer list, creating uncertainty around the issue.
Reports indicate that due to the involvement of the Pakistan Peoples Party in the government’s move, the names of Khadim Hussain Soomro and Arbab M. Tahir have, for the time being, been excluded from the transfer list, making the situation more complex.
Sources further stated that the matter is likely to be revisited upon the return of Asif Ali Zardari, and there is a possibility that the transfers of these two judges may be reconsidered in the near future.
