Qatar has said that indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran have made positive progress and are expected to resume after the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
According to Qatari officials, the next phase of talks will begin following the completion of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s funeral ceremonies.
Pakistan has also expressed a similar position on the matter.
A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Iran and the United States have agreed to continue negotiations in the coming days.
The spokesperson added that Pakistani and Qatari mediators held separate meetings in Doha with American and Iranian negotiators, where positive progress was made on issues related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
According to the Foreign Office, the latest developments build upon the understandings reached during the Lucerne summit and are aimed at advancing the ongoing diplomatic process.
