Supreme Court to Hold Hearing Today on Requests Against Audio Leaks Inquiry Commission, Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial to Head Five-Member Larger Bench.
A five-member larger bench, consisting of Justice Ejaz ul Hassan, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Shahid Wahid, will conduct the hearing under the leadership of Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial.
Notices have been issued to other parties, including the Attorney General, by the court.
Chairman of the PTI Imran Khan, President and Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar, and Advocate Hanif Rahi have filed the requests.
The Supreme Court has issued a written order for the final hearing of the audio leaks commission case.
According to the issued order by the Supreme Court, the Attorney General has stated that the federal government has objected to the five-member larger bench (which is expected to hear the arguments today), and the federal government has also submitted a written request against the judges, which should be registered by the Registrar’s Office.
On 21st May, the federal government established a commission to investigate the audio leaks case, with Justice Qazi Faez Isa as the head of the commission. Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Naheem Akhtar Afghan, and Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Aamer Farooq, are also part of the commission.
On 25th May, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had scheduled the hearing for the requests against the formation of the Audio Leaks Inquiry Commiss
