Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that if the nation gives Nawaz Sharif an opportunity in the next elections, I promise you today that Nawaz Sharif, myself, and our entire team will change Pakistan’s destiny and lead the country towards progress and prosperity.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore to distribute checks among successful youth under the Prime Minister’s Youth Business and Agriculture Scheme, he stated that the IMF program is a challenge for us. The positive aspect of the agreement with the International Monetary Fund is that the value of the rupee has stabilized. Now the rupee and the dollar are not fluctuating wildly; there is stability in it, which is why the prices of petroleum products have been reduced.
He said that the stability of the rupee against the dollar is providing relief to the people. If we had not entered into this program with the IMF, the value of the rupee would have been in jeopardy, and our economic situation would have been in turmoil.
Shahbaz Sharif said that those who conspired against the country, those involved in plots against the state, and their machinations failed miserably. Just a few days ago, Israel issued a statement against Pakistan.
He said that the IMF program is not a piece of cake for us; it is a very challenging program. If we undertake economic reforms, take revolutionary steps, and make courageous decisions, then Pakistan’s economic progress will soar, and your footsteps will be kissed in this regard. The responsibility for this lies with the country’s elite, including myself.
The Prime Minister said that Nawaz Sharif has been punished by putting him in the Panamagate case, and no one listened to Nawaz Sharif’s plea that he is being treated unjustly by disqualifying him from the Panama case.
He said that the actions taken in the past are now a thing of the past; that time has gone by. If Allah agrees, I promise the entire nation on behalf of Nawaz Sharif that I will be 72 years old under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. I may be just a few years younger than him, but I consider him my father’s place. He is my leader, and I follow him with courage.
