Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) approached the Supreme Court against the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court.Chairman PTI took the position in the petition that the Islamabad High Court should be stopped from hearing all the cases against him.
In the appeal, the PTI Chairman has taken the stance that all proceedings against him in the Islamabad High Court should be halted. He demanded that all his cases be transferred from the Islamabad High Court to either Lahore or Peshawar High Courts.
This request by the PTI Chairman was filed under Article 186-A by Advocate Latif Khosa in the Supreme Court. The appeal requests a stay on Justice Aamer Farooq from the PTI Chairman’s cases until a judicial decision is made.
In light of this, the Supreme Court is currently hearing the appeal by the PTI Chairman against the Islamabad High Court’s decision. Chief Justice Omar Ata Bandial is leading a 3-member bench for the hearing. PTI Chairman’s counsel, Latif Khosa, appeared before the court.
During the hearing, Latif Khosa stated that our request is against the decisions of the High Court. The petitioner was elected as a member of the National Assembly from Mianwali in the 2018 elections.
Latif Khosa further mentioned that PTI Chairman submits details of his assets to the Election Commission every year.
It should be noted that yesterday, strong condemnation was expressed by PTI regarding the adjournment of the Toshakhana case hearing in the Islamabad High Court until Thursday.
