Inflation on essential commodities has decreased by 0.33 percent. The annual inflation rate on essential commodities has been recorded at 29.65 percent.
The Department of Statistics has released weekly inflation figures, which show that in the past week, prices of 14 essential items increased, prices of 17 items decreased, and 20 prices remained stable. Last week, tomatoes became more expensive, costing Rs. 23 per kilogram.
According to the statistics department, the price of potatoes per kilogram increased by 3 rupees. The report indicates that last week, eggs were priced at 5 rupees per dozen, salt at 1 rupee per 800 grams, garlic at 4 rupees per kilogram, and there was an average decrease of 8 rupees per kilogram in the prices of lentils, chickpeas, and lentil mash.
According to the statistics agency, chicken has become cheaper by 36 rupees, LPG cylinders by 50 rupees, sugar by 3 rupees per kg, and the price of a 20 kg bag of flour has decreased by 45 rupees in the last one month.According to the statistics department, there has also been a reduction in the prices of rice, onions, sugar, jaggery, and bananas.
