Former Federal Finance Minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Ishaq Dar, has been appointed as the Chairman of the PML-N’s Election Cell.
Ishaq Dar’s appointment as the Chairman of the Election Cell was notified following the approval of Shehbaz Sharif.
The notification was issued by the party’s Secretary-General, Ahsan Iqbal.
In this regard, a spokesperson for the PML-N, Maryam Aurangzeb, stated that appointing Ishaq Dar as the head of the Election Cell would accelerate the party’s functioning and ensure the speedy completion of all relevant matters.
Maryam Aurangzeb mentioned that Ishaq Dar had previously served as the head of the parliamentary committee that prepared the Election Act 2017.
It should be noted that the Election Commission has set Thursday, February 2, as the date for the general elections in compliance with the Supreme Court’s order, and accordingly, the general elections will take place on February 11 across the country.
