Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for the United Arab Emirates on an official visit, where he will meet the Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. The two leaders will hold special discussions on trade and investment.
According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, this will be the first visit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the UAE after assuming the Prime Ministership.
The spokesman of the Foreign Office says that there is a high-level delegation of important cabinet ministers along with the Prime Minister, including Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Jam Kamal, Atta Tarar and others.
During his visit to the UAE, he is also likely to meet with heads of the Emirati business community and financial institutions. The Prime Minister will discuss bilateral relations, including trade and investment.
The spokesman further said that Pakistan and UAE have long-standing brotherly relations, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit is an important step towards further strengthening multilateral cooperation.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif participated in a condolence ceremony in Tehran, Iran, on the death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian and other officials in a helicopter accident yesterday.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Shahbaz Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
