On the occasion of Independence Day, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir organized a ceremony in honor of ex-servicemen.
According to ISPR, a large number of retired army officers and soldiers participated in the event. The Army Chief paid tribute to the services of the retired officers and appreciated their dedication and key role in making the history of the nation.
The Army Chief emphasized the importance of unity and perseverance in the face of adversity and appealed to the ex-servicemen to continue their role in the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
The Army Chief also informed about the danger of fake news and propaganda being spread by hostile elements to weaken the relationship between the people of Pakistan and the armed forces. He assured that the unwavering support of the nation will defeat all these efforts.
The former officers expressed confidence and faith in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and assured their support in dealing with internal and external security challenges. Former Army Chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif and Ashfaq Parvez also participated in the ceremony.
