According to sources, significant developments have occurred regarding allegations of facilitation within Adiala Jail for the founder and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan.
Security agencies have reportedly uncovered the entire network within the jail led by former Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Muhammad Akram. Investigations have also begun involving two additional jail officers.
The other two officers under investigation are Adiala Jail’s Assistant Superintendent and former Deputy Superintendent Zafar, both of whom lived close to Muhammad Akram. Sources indicate that based on information obtained from the removed Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram, further questioning will be conducted with six more employees.
Interrogations will also involve Muhammad Akram’s two orderlies, three warders, and a head warder, all of whom are considered close associates of him. There has also been progress in investigating the provision of mobile phone facilities to Imran Khan within the jail.
Sources revealed that evidence has been found of mobile phones used for WhatsApp communication with numbers from three European countries. Muhammad Akram, who has been removed from his position at Adiala Jail, is reportedly close to PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari and a former provincial minister of Punjab.
Muhammad Akram is accused of facilitating communication and other services for the PTI founder. He has served at Adiala Jail for a total of over 15 years at different times. The entire network within the jail has reportedly been dismantled. A meeting of the jail administration is expected to take place today to discuss the irregular facilities and communication services provided to the PTI founder.
