Islamabad: Petroleum product prices are expected to increase across the country starting December 1. Petrol prices may rise by up to Rs. 3.15 per liter, while diesel prices are expected to increase by up to Rs. 3.20 per liter. Similarly, kerosene oil might become more expensive by up to Rs. 4 per liter.
The final decision on petroleum prices will be made on November 30, with the new prices announced by the Finance Minister in consultation with the Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that a few days ago, the government announced that petroleum product prices would remain unchanged. A notification issued by the Ministry of Finance stated that the prices of petroleum products would be maintained for the next 15 days.
The petrol price was fixed at Rs. 248.38 per liter, and high-speed diesel at Rs. 255.14 per liter. Previously, on November 1, petroleum product prices had been increased across the country.
The federal government had announced new prices for petroleum products. For the next 15 days, petrol prices were increased by Rs. 1.35, and high-speed diesel by Rs. 3.85, with a notification issued to this effect. According to the Ministry of Finance’s notification, the new price of petrol was set at Rs. 248.38 per liter, and high-speed diesel at Rs. 255.14 per liter.
After the increase, petrol prices rose from Rs. 247.03 to Rs. 248.38 per liter, and high-speed diesel prices went up from Rs. 251.29 to Rs. 255.14 per liter. Conversely, kerosene oil prices decreased from Rs. 163.02 to Rs. 161.54 per liter, and light diesel oil prices dropped from Rs. 150.12 to Rs. 147.51 per liter.
The notification stated that adjustments in petroleum product prices were made in light of fluctuations in international oil prices.
