In the second Test against South Africa, Pakistan’s cricket team captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam made history in Test cricket.
On the third day of the Cape Town Test, the Pakistani team was dismissed for 194 runs in their first innings and was forced to follow on. After the follow-on, Shan Masood and Babar Azam played brilliant innings, making history.
Shan Masood scored 102 and Babar Azam scored 81, forming a 205-run partnership. They created Pakistan’s largest opening partnership against South Africa and set a record for the biggest opening partnership in Test cricket history after a follow-on.
Earlier in the match, South Africa had dominated by scoring a massive 615 runs in their first innings. Following that, Pakistan’s team was all out for 194 runs in their first innings and had to follow on.
In the second innings, Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood scored a brilliant century, which was his sixth century.
At the end of the third day, Pakistan had scored 213 runs for the loss of one wicket. Pakistan is still trailing by 208 runs, and South Africa needs 8 more wickets to win.
