The decision on the 190 million-pound reference against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, has once again been deferred. Additionally, hearings for 13 cases, including the GHQ attack and the May 9 tragedy, have been postponed until January 8.
The accountability court had scheduled the decision for today; however, the verdict could not be announced due to Judge Nasir Javed Rana’s leave.
The court staff informed PTI’s founder’s lawyer, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, about the delay. Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry stated that the court staff had communicated that the decision would not be delivered today, and the next date for the verdict would be set in court today.
The court staff also notified NAB and Imran Khan’s lawyer that the decision on the 190 million-pound case has been rescheduled for January 13.
The case hearing was held at the NAB court in G-11 instead of Adiala Jail. The presence of the accused is required in court for the verdict, but since the PTI founder is in jail, his attendance at the G-11 hearing was not possible. The court is expected to set a new date for the announcement of the decision.
The hearings for 13 cases, including the GHQ attack and the May 9 tragedy, have been postponed until January 8, with attendance recorded for all accused.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah, due to training, is on leave, so no hearings will be held at Adiala Jail today. All accused have been granted exemption from attending court today.
