Actress and TV host Mishi Khan has demanded that YouTubers in Pakistan who create content filled with obscene and abusive language should be boycotted.
In a short video shared on Instagram, Mishi Khan referred to the controversy surrounding India’s YouTube show India’s Got LITent and highlighted how, despite India’s liberal environment, people have raised their voices against YouTubers using vulgar language.
She pointed out that even in India, where media freedom is greater, people felt that YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina used inappropriate language on their show, which was deemed unacceptable for family values.
Mishi Khan noted that Indian YouTubers are now facing legal action, but questioned why similar concerns are not being addressed in Pakistan.
Referring to vloggers and YouTubers in Pakistan who use offensive language, she specifically mentioned Ducky Bhai, accusing him of teaching children aged 13-14 to use profanities. She questioned whether anyone had ever stood up against such behavior.
Drawing a comparison between India and Pakistan, Mishi Khan stated that while people in India have taken a stand, no such movement has emerged in Pakistan.
She reiterated her stance that YouTubers who use abusive language should be boycotted.
It is worth mentioning that India’s Got LITent show faced legal action last week after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made inappropriate remarks regarding guests’ parents. Following public outrage, the National Commission for Women in India demanded YouTube remove the episode, leading to Samay Raina deleting all related videos.
