Famous actor Adnan Siddiqui, who was present at the National Stadium Karachi to watch the opening match of the Champions Trophy between Pakistan and New Zealand, lashed out at the poor arrangements.
After 29 years, Pakistan hosted the Champions Trophy 2025, which officially began on Wednesday, February 19, at the National Stadium Karachi.
The opening match of the event was played between defending champions Pakistan and New Zealand, which was attended by a large number of fans, including Adnan Siddiqui.
Adnan Siddiqui shared a video of the VIP enclosure on his Instagram and sarcastically remarked, “As-salamu alaikum, friends! I’ve come here to the stadium to watch the match. Now, tell me, after buying such an expensive ticket, what will you see in front of you? A big shed and girls? Wow!”
Mocking the distance between the stadium and the enclosure, he further added, “Let me tell you something else. It feels like I’m sitting in Dubai and watching the match. It’s so far away.”
On one hand, social media users are expressing surprise at the several rows of empty seats in the stadium, while on the other hand, cricket fans present at the stadium, like Adnan Siddiqui, are expressing frustration over the poor arrangements despite the stadium’s renovation.
It is worth noting that the National Stadium Karachi was recently renovated to modern and international standards to host the Champions Trophy 2025.
The renovation and decoration work carried out under the personal supervision of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, was completed in just 120 days.
The renovation of the stadium began on September 28, 2024, and with relentless hard work, day and night dedication, and a focus on high standards, the work was completed by January 31.
