Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with a Pakistani delegation, arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he received a grand welcome. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally welcomed the Prime Minister and presented him with a guard of honor.
Upon arrival in Tashkent, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with the Uzbek President, where both leaders engaged in pleasant discussions. During the meeting, the national anthems of both countries were played. President Mirziyoyev introduced his cabinet members to the Prime Minister, who, in return, introduced his delegation.
Before completing his two-day visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tashkent from Baku last night. He was received by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov, and other high-ranking officials. A well-dressed contingent of the Uzbek Armed Forces was also present at Tashkent Airport to welcome the Prime Minister.
Today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit the Independence Monument in Tashkent, where he will lay a wreath to pay tribute to Uzbekistan’s great historical figures and express best wishes for the development and prosperity of the Uzbek people. He will also be given a briefing on Uzbekistan’s 3,000-year-old history, including intricate wood carvings at the memorial site.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold a bilateral meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss enhancing cooperation in regional connectivity, trade, investment, energy, defense, security, education, and other sectors. Following the meeting, agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between Pakistan and Uzbekistan for bilateral cooperation.
To strengthen business and investment ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, a Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum will be held in Tashkent, where the Prime Minister will participate and deliver a speech. Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit the Techno Park in Tashkent to observe Uzbekistan’s construction and industrial sector.
