Army and Rangers units have been requisitioned for the security of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League. One wing of the Rangers and two companies of the Pakistan Army have been requested to assist the police in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
According to details, Punjab’s Home Department has requested Army and Rangers personnel for PSL 10 matches in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
To ensure foolproof security, Army and Rangers troops have been called in to assist the police. Each of the three cities will be provided with one wing of Rangers and two companies of the Army.
Special Services Group (SSG) commandos and Army Aviation helicopters have also been requested at all three locations. Matches of PSL Edition 10 are scheduled from April 11 to May 18.
The services of the security forces have been requested from April 6 to May 19. International cricketers and match officials will participate in the Pakistan Super League, making it a high-profile event. Due to the presence of national and international dignitaries, players, officials, and staff, there will be foolproof security arrangements during the matches, team stays, and travel in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
