In India, a woman battling between life and death on a ventilator was allegedly subjected to a horrific act of sexual assault.
According to Indian media reports, an air hostess undergoing treatment at a private hospital revealed, after being discharged, that she was subjected to inappropriate acts while in the ICU on a ventilator.
Police stated that the air hostess claimed she was sexually assaulted on April 6 while on a ventilator in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Gurugram.
The victim informed her husband about the incident after being discharged from the hospital on April 13, following which he filed a complaint with the police.
An FIR has been registered on the 46-year-old woman’s complaint, but no arrests have been made so far. The hospital administration has not commented on the matter.
According to the complainant, she had arrived in Gurugram for training purposes on behalf of her company and was staying in a hotel. After falling ill, she was admitted to a private hospital.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that on April 6, while she was unconscious and on a ventilator, some members of the hospital staff sexually assaulted her. Two nurses were reportedly present at the time, but she was helpless, unable to speak, and in a state of extreme fear.
