U.S. President Donald Trump has openly acknowledged the intelligence and exceptional creative abilities of Pakistanis, calling the Pakistan-India ceasefire one of the most praised achievements of his foreign policy.
In an interview with an American television channel, President Trump lauded Pakistanis for their brilliance and incredible capacity to create extraordinary products.
He stated that he had very productive discussions with Pakistan and emphasized that the U.S. cannot afford to ignore the country, remarking, “It takes two hands to clap.”
Regarding India, Trump expressed confidence but also highlighted trade talks with Pakistan, noting Pakistan’s keen interest in increasing trade with the U.S.
Trump remarked, “Pakistanis are intelligent people. They make amazing things.” He expressed surprise that despite good relations with Pakistan, the U.S. does not engage in substantial trade with the country.
When questioned about the ceasefire between Pakistan and India in response to Indian aggression and U.S. intervention, President Trump said both nations are not minor players but major nuclear powers.
He noted that tensions were high, with both sides retaliating aggressively, and the situation was escalating dangerously toward the use of nuclear weapons.
Calling the term “nuclear war” the ugliest imaginable, Trump regretted that both nations were on the brink due to intense animosity.
Trump confirmed that a nuclear war between Pakistan and India was imminent at one point, but now both sides are satisfied.
Regarding behind-the-scenes diplomacy, Trump revealed that he had directed his officials to contact both nations to initiate trade and dialogue. He emphasized that trade would be used to end hostilities and foster peace.
Highlighting his capabilities, Trump said he is a man of his word.
Criticizing India, the U.S. President pointed out that India imposes the highest tariffs in the world, making it nearly impossible for others to do business. However, he added that India is now ready to reduce tariffs on U.S. goods by 100 percent.
