Karachi: Amid intense heat, the city faced severe water supply issues due to continuous power breakdowns at pumping stations.
According to a spokesperson of Karachi Water Corporation, power was suspended at the K-III and Fourth Phase stations on May 27, which resulted in the failure to supply 45 million gallons of water.
Similarly, on May 28, the power supply was suspended at 2:45 AM and restored at 7:50 AM. The spokesperson added that electricity at the K-III station remained completely shut down on May 28 as well, preventing the supply of another 45 million gallons of water that day.
The spokesperson confirmed that a total of 90 million gallons of water supply was affected over two days. However, the water supply in the city has now returned to normal.
