Due to fluctuations in global oil markets, a slight change in petroleum product prices is expected in the country starting from June 1.
According to sources, the oil industry has submitted a working paper regarding petroleum products to OGRA, while OGRA will send the summary for price adjustments to the government on May 31.
Preliminary data suggests a decrease of Rs. 0.61 per liter in petrol and Rs. 0.28 per liter in high-speed diesel. On the other hand, an increase of Rs. 0.21 per liter in kerosene and Rs. 1.30 per liter in light diesel is expected.
The final decision will be made by the government in consultation with the Prime Minister based on OGRA’s working paper. After the Prime Minister’s approval, the Ministry of Finance will issue an official notification.
The government also reserves the right to provide relief or make further adjustments in petroleum prices independently.
