The court has ordered the seizure of Aleema Khan’s national identity card and passport after she failed to appear despite arrest warrants being issued against her. The court took this step as she repeatedly avoided appearing before the bench.
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi heard the case registered against Aleema Khan and 10 others over the November 26 protest. The hearing was conducted by Judge Amjad Ali Shah. Despite the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants, Aleema Khan did not appear, prompting the court to order the confiscation of her ID card and passport.
The court also ordered the freezing of Aleema Khan’s bank accounts and instructed NADRA and immigration authorities to seize her ID card and passport to ensure the implementation of the court’s orders.
In addition, the court directed the confiscation of property belonging to her guarantor, Umar Sharif, noting that Aleema Khan is seen in various places but has not attended court proceedings.
Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah was present in court, while no lawyer appeared on behalf of Aleema Khan. Meanwhile, the other 10 co-accused in the case appeared before the court, and prosecution witnesses were also present along with the case property.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing until October 27 to allow further proceedings to continue.
