Addressing a joint gathering of the police force and civil officers in Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi said that with faith, courage, and firm resolve, terrorism will be defeated and peace will be restored in the province under all circumstances.
He noted that the current situation is highly challenging, as KP has been affected by terrorism for the past four decades. Despite limited resources, the police have bravely fought terrorism for 21 years, a sacrifice for which the entire nation is proud.
He stated that the bravery with which the police confront terrorists is commendable. When the fight is for the pleasure of Allah and the welfare of the public, victory becomes assured. The Chief Minister added that the provincial government is committed to restoring peace and is providing the police with bulletproof vehicles, modern weapons, and anti-drone systems. Moreover, the force is being equipped with advanced technology on an urgent basis so that resource limitations do not hinder security operations.
Afridi emphasized that there will be no political interference in the affairs of officers, but performance and results are essential. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, stating that no one would be given any concession, and the performance of government officials will be judged through performance indicators.
He further said that those responsible for delivering justice often fail to do so, which worsens the situation. According to him, the government aims to provide relief to the public in line with the vision of the PTI founder, ensuring that every decision is made with the welfare of the people in mind.
